This boat has had a good deal of recent restoration work completed by Silver Cove Marine, and is in nice shape! This is a great little boat!
Specs:
Length: 22'
Beam: 8'
Engine: Chris Craft 305K (GM 305 cubic inch V8 with about 230 HP)
Trailer: 1978 EZ Loader with Brand New Tires
The canvas has just had a major refit, with all new Isinglass in the enclosure, and a brand new separate travel cover. The canvas on this boat is near-flawless. Every single snap and connector works. Most of the teak wood on the boat has just been refinished, and it looks great. The side panels at the helm are new. New gauges have just been fitted, and a new Garmin GPSMAP 743XSV chart plotter has also been added, along with a GT15M transducer that allows this unit to display sonar. There is also a Raymarine VHF radio that works great. The VHF antenna is brand new, and is a Shakespeare 8-foot model.
The cabin is neat and clean, with nice upholstery. The windows and hatch all seal well, and there are screens that clip into the windows. There is a portable head under the floor in the cabin. We have never used it, so it is very clean.
The boat is powered by its original engine, a Chris-Craft 305K V8 with about 230 HP. The original (we believe) hour meter shows about 650 hours total. It has a newer DUI distributor, and a freshly-rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor. The thermostat has just been replaced. The engine starts with ease and runs beautifully. It has a newer fuel filter, recent spark plug replacement, and the impeller has been replaced. The oil was changed less than ten hours ago. There are no fluid leaks from the engine or transmission, and no known issues at all with either. This engine pushes the boat nicely, and cruises great. The batteries are about two years old, and are in excellent condition. The batteries are controlled by a manual battery switch that allows you to isolate the starting battery if desired. There is an automatic isolator/combiner that activates when the engine is running, so that both batteries charge when the engine runs. The propeller and shaft were replaced about three years ago, when I purchased the boat. The previous owner had damaged them. We replaced the cutlass bearing at the same time. The trim tabs work as designed. There are three bilge pumps, all of which work. One was replaced about a year ago. The horn works. The blower works. All navigation and dash lights work. The cabin light works, and has a dark mode (red) if desired. The area to the rear of the engine box has two lights on the interior that work well and light up the inside of the boat.
Known Issues:
The fuel gauge in the dash is not hooked up. This boat has a manual fuel gauge located inside a little door at the transom.
The oil pressure gauge is not working.
There are a few scratches and scrapes in the gelcoat, but nothing terrible.
The bottom paint is ready to be replaced. We didn’t do it because we don’t store the boat in the water.
The swim platform, which was installed by a previous owner, is not what I would consider sturdy enough for adults to use. The mounts look weak to me, and there is some slight gelcoat cracking at the mounts. We have never used it because of these concerns.
The EZ-Loader trailer is what I believe to be the original one that came with the boat in 1978, however it appears that a previous owner did some renovation work on it at some point. All lights function well, and have been upgraded to LED. It also has disc brakes on the front axle, and they work well. There is a five-pin harness that contains a brake lockout when the tow vehicle is put into reverse, so backing up with this trailer is not difficult. The trailer tires were replaced on July 3, 2026, including the spare. Front trailer bearings have just been replaced as well. We also just installed a brand new winch strap and clip.
The boat has a clean and clear North Carolina title.
The trailer will be sold with a bill of sale.
