1992 Ski Nautique (28882) (Second Visit)

This 1992 Ski Nautique is owned by a returning client, and has had significant work done by us in the past. The owner has now asked us to do a few additional items, which we're happy to do! We'll be doing gelcoat restoration, replacing the SKI NAUTIQUE lettering on one side, replacing the rub rail, replacing the steering cable, and powder coating the windshield frame. This is going to be a stunner when we're finished with it!
This vessel went home to its owner this morning. It turned out great, and he seems very happy with it. Looking forward to the next time we get to work on this one!
Today, the new rub rail was installed, along with the remaining graphics that the owner asked for. Only things left to do are replace the steering cable, and install the new blower. This one will be heading home soon!
The freshly powder coated windshield went back on the boat today. It is really starting to come together now!
Today, our graphics installer placed the new SKI NAUTIQUE lettering on this boat. The owner opted to go back to the original-style lettering on this boat, with the "spray" clear section in the middle that allows the freshly-polished gelcoat to shine right through the vinyl. This was definitely the right choice! These letters look so good, and the gray outline matches the top gelcoat nicely too. Once the rub rail is back on for some contrast, this one is going to look great!
Starting in about 1995 or so, the factory started grinding a line just above the rub rail screw holes on their boats. This was to prevent cracks from starting at the screw holes for the rub rail, and extending up into the top deck. This boat was too early to have that line, so that's why there were so many cracks extending up from the rub rail on this boat that needed to be fixed. We don't want a repeat of the issue, so we're grinding that stop line in now, before installing the new rub rail. This line will be hidden under the new rub rail.
